Yankees





The Yankees have been an active sports team since 1901. At first they were located in Baltimore and were called the Orioles. After that they  became known as the New York highlanders. Then in 1913 the name was changed from the highlanders to the Yankees. The stadium that the Yankees play at is known as Yankee Stadium. It is located in Bronx, New York. The Yankees are known for their popularity and dedicated fan base. The current owner of the Yankees is George Steinbrenner. Over the years they have developed a major rivalry with the Boston Red Sox. They are known for having many great baseball players to go through their franchise. players like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Yogi Berra. they also have 27 World Series titles, 40 AL pennants, 16 east division titles, and 4 Wild Card berths. The yankees currently have 44 Baseball Hall of Fame inductees.
